Rivers Leads the Way in First Aid

Sunday, 25 November 2007

SES Fist Aid Instructors from Rivers Unit have just put another batch of SES students through their paces in a NSW SES developed first aid course that happened over the course of yesterday and today.  Students will be assessed and tested tomorrow night, starting at 6:30pm. Those who successfully pass this course and are deemed to be ‘competent’ will gain not only a NSW Workcover endorsed Certificate II in First Aid, but also two national recognised competencies under the Public Safety Training Package (PSTP):

PUAEME001B  - Provide Emergency Care; and

PUAEM002B – Manage Injuries at an Incident

Rivers has two active first aid instructors and one reserve instructor who regularly feature in the ACT State Emergency Service (SES) and ACT Rural Fire Service (RFS) first aid training program and between them have a long history of first aid provision.
