This evening, approximately 80 people – SES volunteers, their families and friends, SES staff and special invited guests attended the annual ACTSES Honours and Awards Ceremony at the CSIRO Discovery Centre.

 

Rivers Unit members were amongst the recipients. Rivers Team Leader and Training Coordinator, Graeme Billett, received 3 awards: his 5 Year Service Award, an ACT Chief Officer’s Commendation for Diligent Service (attachment) and a Unit Commendation for Meritorious Service for his work in the Victorian Bushfires. Nine other Rivers Unit members – Col Pedersen, Ben Morey, Don Roach, Jess McLeod, Sarah Harman, Bec Noble, Luke Pinner and Vicki Munslow also received the latter award for their contribution to the ACT Taskforces in February to the state of Victoria this year. Well done to all!
