At
11pm last night, the ACT sent
its biggest ever bushfire task

their bushfire fighting efforts.
The ACT task force is being
staged out of Myrtleford and are
working the fire at Beechworth.
The task force (TF1) comprises

SES teams (from Belconnen,
Tuggeranong, Majura and Pialligo
Units) will be undertaking
driving and logistics duty so
work around that skill set where
possible.
At this stage no further request
has come from the Victorian
Government for further
assistance from the ACT, however
it may come over the next day or
so.
Rivers SES Unit wishes the very
best to all of the people who
have been, and continue to be
affected by this disaster and
also the flooding disaster in
north Queensland (the home of
the Rivers SES Unit webmaster)
and hope that all who have been
affected get back on their feet
very soon. We would also like to
extend our sympathy to those
many people who have lost
family, friends, pets, homes and
livelihoods in them.
An extra-special good luck wish
to those emergency service
personnel who are also affected
personally by the disaster. It
can be very difficult to deal
with everything when sometimes
people seem to forget that
emergency service personnel,
both professional and volunteer,
are also members of the affected
communities.
