Internet Explorer Web Browser Security Bug

Microsoft is investigating a vulnerability in Microsoft Internet Explorer. An attacker who successfully exploited this vulnerability could gain the same user rights as the local user. When using Internet Explorer, code execution is remote and may not require any user intervention.

 

The Following software is being affected:

Internet Explorer 6

Internet Explorer 7

Internet Explorer 8

 

for the following operating system platforms:

 

Windows XP and Windows Server 2003

 

The problem can be easily fixed by downloading and installing the following temporary fix from Microsoft:

Microsoft have released a Security Advisory about the problem. They will be probably also post details about patches here once they are available.
